I have just returned from the 'WHICH' computer fair at the NEC Birmingham, and much to my amazement the show had only one outstanding item this year. The release of Research Machines NEW Nimbus VX & AX computer Workstations. Here is a brief specification : AX - 286, VX - 386 AX -286 runs at 12Mhz and is 50% faster than the IBM AT VX -386 runs at 16Mhz optional Maths co-processors are available. IBM PC AT compatibility 5 PC AT expansion slots Ethernet, IBM Token ring, RM Z-net interfaces 2Mbytes RAM expandable to 16Mbytes using external memory management upto 140 Mbyte Internal Winchesters 1280 by 1024 bit High resolution graphics on VX40HC Workstation 640 by 480 bit High resolution as standard. Amazing prices 1200 pounds for a diskless workstation to 9995 pounds for CAD High resolution (SUN/APPOLLO Type Workstation)... Sorry if this reads like an Advert but I'm typing this in a hurry....
