[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Stripping some symbols from .EXE file- Got a program?

pete@octopus.UUCP (02/20/87)

I need to debug a large program. It fits in various debuggers if I strip
all of the public symbols out (with EXEPACK). It does NOT fit if I leave
the symbols in. I'd like to be able to strip most of the symbols (the
areas that I'm not debugging) so that I can debug the silly thing.

Does anybody
	a) Know the .EXE file format, so I could write a program to do this

	b) Have a program that accomplishes what I want (Using the load map,
I could specify an address range for symbols to be stripped,
		or something like that).

Please mail responses. If there's enough interest, I'll summarize any
answers to the net.

Thanks!
