I have a friend with an IBM-PC. He wants to hook up a laser printer to it. His preference is to use Wordstar as his word processing program. Mostly he want to do text output with some limited graphics (like charts etc.). The output must look pretty nice, because the documents will be used professionally (he will use it for business letters etc.). He wants to know; 1. Is this a reasonable thing to try? (I think it is because I have heard of this being done.) 2. What good software packages are there out there that will work with a laser printer? Are there specific software packages that work well only with specific laser printers? 3. What are the pro's and con's of the different laser printers? He is considering an HP Laserjet and the Applewriter(?). 4. Any other helpful information. Please mail to me (he is not on the net), and if warranted, I will summarize and post. (Apologies if this topic has been worked over in this group: I myself have never touched an IBM-PC) Doug Larson {ucbvax|hplabs}!hpda!dvl
