Does anyone out there know Stephen P. Morse of Intel -- the person who did the architectural definition of the 8086 microprocessor? As I was growing up in San Mateo, CA (south of San Francisco) in the 1960's, I had a classmate named Steve Morse. He was rather short, with dark hair, thick glasses, and a very nasal voice; was studious in the extreme (as was I at the time, for that matter); and, if I remember cor- rectly, was originally from Chicago. He would be about 34 or 35 years old by now. I noticed, in the preface to _The 8086 Primer_, that Stephen P. Morse lives in San Francisco. The thought occurred to me that he might pos- sibly be the same person as I knew in school in San Mateo. Does anyone on the net know Mr. Morse and could tell me whether he's the same person as my old classmate? If so, it might be interesting for us to get back in touch and "compare notes". -- Rich Wales // UCLA Computer Science Department // +1 213-825-5683 3531 Boelter Hall // Los Angeles, California 90024-1600 // USA wales@LOCUS.UCLA.EDU ...!(ucbvax,sdcrdcf,ihnp4)!ucla-cs!wales "Sir, there is a multilegged creature crawling on your shoulder."
