Has anyone dealt with the TECH PC company? I'm interested in buying one of their portable PC XTs? They seem to have the best price for a PCXT portable with slots. Im concerned about compatablity, reliablity, and speed of service from the company. Thanks in advance.

It was the most shoddy thing I have ever seen. The cover to the expansion slot area falls off even when you are not breathing on it. This is because the cheap molded plastic is molded into the wrong shape. There is nothing you can do about this except use duct tape. There is something wrong with the video system in the machine as well. The monitor is in straight but the image on the screen is tilted. My co-worker did not bother to complain. He figures he got his money's worth. He is sort of right. Their prices are quite low. I guess you get what you pay for -- not much in this case. The hard disk crashed about two or three weeks after the PC arrived. To be fair, this is not too unusual and they did replace it but who wants to be without his PC during the shipments, diagnoses and repairs? They are difficult to get on the phone because they eternally "out to lunch". I have heard that the sun shines most of the time in California. In Anaheim it must be brilliant. When we did get them on the phone, they seemed just barely (but sufficiently) eager to help. I have heard that Tech PC's other computers are equally cheap. I would recommend another brand. Sorry to give someone such bad press.
