I recently purchased an NEC multisync monitor for use with my Compaq portable. The monitor displays CGA output better than any other color monitor I've seen, partly because the monitor allows you to "squeeze" the display, compressing the text and makeing it look more solid. However, I would like to get an EGA card for the Compaq, but I get conflicting stories from various dealers I've talked to: some say you can't use an EGA card in a Compaq portable, others say it works just fine. Has anyone out in netland actually gotten an EGA card to work in their Compaq ? Any problems ? (I don't mind if the built in screen doesn't work; I'm only interested in driving the Multisync.) thanks..........n
