I just purchased a PC-Turbo clone. The "ERSO" bios was dated 1986 on the chip. Norton's "SYSINFO" shows the dated bios as 1982...ugh...Anyway this maybe the cause of many of my problems. Like EGA/Codeview/Mouse compatibility, enhanced keyboard problems, and more. The latest, I have a western digital disk controller and 2-st225 segate 20mb drives. I can format drive "C" ok, but only can get 10mb on drive "D". "FDISK" shows that all 612 cylinders are there and partitioned for use, and "FORMAT" does all 612 cylinders but only reports 10mb on the drive. Dr. Strange. Does anyone have a phone number to the ERSO people or know where I can purchase, exchange, steal, beg, borrow,...another or "the lastest" bios for my PC. Will I have to worry about "turbo" mode? I suppose a phone number for Phoenix might be better. I purchased my pc from Datawave in Portland, Or. which both the pc and company can be considered "no-name brand". I guess I get what I paid for. I really can't complain, for just over $1,600 I got a turbo-pc, 2-20mb disks, 5 1/4" disk, 3 1/2" disk, 640 kb mem, enh. kb, EGA, and alot of headaces. I tried my BTC-5339 enhanced keyboard on a series of pc's and it did work fine. I think a new/better bios will fix this problem. +------------------------------------------------------------+ | Ed Lisle | ogcvax! | | Quantitative Technology Corporation | verdix! qtc!ed | | Beaverton, OR (503) 626-3081 | sequent! | +------------------------------------------------------------+
