For others looking on, the question was: anyone have experiences with the
Konan KXP-230 hard disk controller.


Don't bother, the increase in speed is due to a cache (384k for best results)
and the data space usage is non-standard (aka DOS can't read or repair any
damaged files).

The EDISK section mentioned is just that, they use up RAM creating a RAM disk
(recommended size is >256k bytes). But this can be done with VDISK, or any
other competent RAM disk.
