I have encountered a bug in PKARC/PKXARC v2.0 that I thought I should mention so that it gets fixed someday. I run a Fido here in Ottawa and I have this one user that is testing/using a new communications program. Due to a bug in the xmodem protocol in the program the zero byte that is supposed to follow the last ARChive header marker (0x1A) is occasionally dropped and the remainder of the block is filled with ASCII EOF (also 0x1A). If PKARC is instructed to "view" the archive, it correctly displays all the file headers and then reports that the file is not an ARChive -- understandable I suppose. If you proceed and attempt to extract all files, PKARC will quite happily do so until you get past the last file. At this point, PKARC runs into some trouble and rather than admit it hangs the machine without even reporting a reason. I have only had this problem with ARChives uploaded by this particular user, but thought I should mention it. Any other outstanding bugs I should watch out for? Brian Campbell
