From time to time, I find it helpful to update the status of TVX. First of all, TVX is a screen editor I've written in C. It supports 4 different command sets: 2 of its own, an emacs emulation, and of interest to most people, a VI emulation. The vi emulation is about 90% (not counting EX ':' escapes). Most users have found it close enough to vi to be a useful tool. If you need complete vi, look at a commercial product. TVX (with the emulations) is shareware. If you would like source code to TVX (which includes executables for the PC, plus all the files needed to build TVX on IBM-PC's, any flavor of UNIX, Atari ST's, CP/M, and directions on easy ports to almost any other machine), I will be happy to land mail you a copy. Because I get so many requests, I am requesting a nominal handling fee. TVX fits on one 360K disk. I can send standard IBM format or Atari ST 3 1/2 inch single sided format. Please send $5.00 PLUS a formatted disk, or $8.00 if you want me to supply a disk. I will return the latest version (2/15/87) of TVX to you. Please specify format: IBM-PC or Atari-ST.
