A friend of mine is about to buy a Maxumn AT from 47th Street Camera store. As most of people did, he is suspecting about quality and compability problems. Any comments? Frank

I recently purchased a Maxum 286-turbo (6/8 MHz, no wait states) and I have been very pleased with it. I looked at literature, magazine reviews, etc. on about 40 clones before choosing the Maxum. One surprise I had: I really liked the US made Atronics International mother board, but I could not find an Atronics dealer or rep in the Oregon/Washington area. The surprise was that the Maxum uses the Atronics mother board. So it was a very pleasent surprize. The Priam drives also recieve great reviews. So far I have found no incompatabilities that do not exist on other AT compatables running DOS 3.2. By the way PC magazine gave the Maxum 286-Turbo good praise and Editor's Choice in one of their Feb. issues.
