I have suddenly found myself deep in the heart of the IBM PC world. To try and add some measure of integration between the IBM PCs and our Unix box, I am looking into terminal emulators. Our requirements are: - Almost complete vt100 emulation. I don't necessarily need double width/height, but the block graphics are pretty important. - Kermit file transfer - Tektronix emulation - Support 9600 baud - Ease of use Based on a review in PC World, Smarterm seems to be the best fit, but none of the mail order companies seem to carry it. And it seems to be a little pricey. Also, is there any special concerns about the hardware? We are planning on using relatively off the shelf serial interfaces, and we have standard monochrome video monitors and interfaces. I'm sure this has been rehashed here several times, so please respond via e-mail only, and if others are interested in the results I will either mail out a compendium, or post if there is huge interest. Thanks. -- eric ...!ptsfa!hippo!eric
