DIGITAL RESEARCH GEM APPLICATIONS MADE AVAILABLE FOR THE
IBM PERSONAL SYSTEM/2(tm) FAMILY OF COMPUTERS
Monterey, CA., April 2, 1987 -- The complete line of GEM presentation
graphics applications are available for IBM's newest PC family of
computers, the Personal System/2, Digital Research Inc. announced today.
GEM Draw Plus, GEM Graph, GEM WordChart, GEM Presentation Team (available
in the summer), GEM Business Library, GEM Desktop, and the GEM
Programmer's Toolkit software, are offered on the 3 1/2 inch diskette
media for the IBM Personal System/2 models 30, 50, 60 and 80. These
applications have been thoroughly tested on the new IBM hardware with
impressive results in the software's performance across the entire
Personal System/2 family, as well as the IBM PC, PC/XT, and PC/AT. Users
will benefit from the significant increases in the processor speed and the
wide variety of devices available throughout the product line.
The GEM applications support the standard and high resolution graphics
modes offered buy the new computers, and operation of the applications
with the IBM Mouse is also fully supported.

partner for our GEM presentation graphics applications product line," said
Dick Williams, Chief Executive Officer of Digital Research. "The features
and options available with these machines, especially the on-board
graphics capability and the mouse, make them ideally suited to operate
with the GEM applications. By virtue of the advanced GEM software
technology, the end user is able to benefit from the features of the
machines immediately. At initial Personal System/2 shipment, a complete
presentation graphics computing solution is offered to the business user,"
commented Williams.

multi-user operating systems: DOS Plus, Concurrent PC-DOS Expanded Memory
(XM), Concurrent DOS/386 and the FlexOS product family designed to take
advantage of the Intel 8086, 80286, and 80386 microprocessors. These
technically advanced operating systems are already available for OEM's,
VAR's and end users, and fully support the new IBM Personal System.2
machines.
