The title is a tad misleading -- I would like to use my Microsoft >bus< mouse under Unix -- however to do this, I must write a device driver (alas, Unix doesn't use DOS drivers). I need detailed info on how the bus version of the mouse works. I have not looked at it yet, but my guess is that Microsoft simply put a serial port at some non-standard address and it dumps info the same way the serial mouse does. If this is not the case, how are they doing it (some sort of pulse counter dumping results to a set of I/O ports?) Anyway, I'd be very very very very very interested in speaking with anyone who has worked on the mouse -- (Are any of you Microsoft guys reading?). My system consists of an AT clone running Microport System V.2 UNIX, however if someone has seen a Xenix device driver for the bus mouse, that would make my life e^(pi*i) times easier.
