I am helping a friend setup a schoolwide LAN of PCs at the Weatherhead School of Management at CWRU. The proposed architecture calls for using Demper boxes (aka multiport repeaters) made by DEC, with 3 Com network cards and the Novell or Banyan operating system. We do not know if there exists any problem with the configuration we have in mind. We would appreciate feedback from anyone who knows about or has used anything similar.
