[comp.sys.ibm.pc] PC-AT hard-disk drive definition tables

scottba@hammer.UUCP (05/08/87)

There is no "type" entry in the AT setup program which corresponds
exactly to the Quantum Q540 drive (# of cyl, hds, and precomp). A
type 7 comes the closest but uses only a subset of the available
disk space. I have heard of a program called Speedstor* which can
be used to create loadable drivers for hard-disks which do not
correspond to one of the 15 possible "types". Can anyone give me
more info on this or any similar program?

Sincerely,
Scott Baker
