[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Does anyone know of a SMD controller for the PC?

Has anyone heard of a SMD controller for a pc?  Do you have experience
with them at all good or bad?  I would like to hook up a 160Mbyte
monster to a pc and would appreciate any help I can get.
