[comp.sys.ibm.pc] reference books

gorin@mit-amt.UUCP (05/27/87)

hello.
It has just become necessary for me to become something of an expert on PCs.
I am already a knowledgeable user, but I've pretty much treated the base level
electronics as a black box.

Question- can anybody recommend a good book or two that will explain the
intricacies of memory addresses and chip modes and such without wasting my time
explaining how to boot the machine?

thanks.
