5) As I understand it, the color palatte of the IBM CGA standard is really limited to 8 colors with 2 intensities of each. On the other hand, the EGA standard allows for a "64 color palatte". Which 64 colors? 2 bits per primary? Yes indeed, the EGA works with 6 TTL lines, two for RED, two for GREEN and two for BLUE. These are converted inside the monitor into intensities. This gives you 4*4*4=64 colors. These colors are adressed via 16 palette registers, so you can use 16 out of 64 colors in one frame.
