BOSTON, Mass., May 15, 1984 -- National Semiconductor Corporation today announced it has entered into an agreement with IBM's Academic Information Systems Business Unit (ACIS) in which National will supply a version of its GENIX32 operating system. The software, based on Berkeley 4.2bsd UNIX, is being developed by National's Microcomputer Systems Division as an extension of the division's current UNIX activities. IBM's ACIS unit will use the software experimentally in several university projects. ------------- UNIX is a trademark of Bell Laboratories.
