What means are used to test for the presence of an 8087 coprocessor? I just received Vers. 3.23 of PCTOOLS and its System Information Services told me I had no 8087. I have several other such items of commercial software, e.g. Microway, MSC V3 and V4 which have no difficulty determining that I do, in fact, have that chip. The speed of execution of transcendental math proves it, furthermore. I remember seeing something on this subject in PC Mag but haven't been able to find which issue this was discussed. My PC is a Leading Edge Model M (Mitsubishi). Forrest Gehrke

I also had this problem and called Leading Edge. They sent me a
program which should be run in AUTOEXEC.BAT that solves this
problem. I don't have it with me but I can bring it in next
week (if I don't forget). If anyone wants a copy please email to
me.
