[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Micro Emacs Source

micky@osu-eddie.UUCP (07/29/87)

From: Mayank Choudhary <micky>

Hi!

Once again, the mail network has done its thing. Our site did not receive
part 3/6 of Micro Emacs source files, and so i have about 180K of code which is
useless. Now if somebody be kind enough to tell me if the source files
posted at .binaries are the same as the EMACSSRC38I.ARC as stored at SIMTEL20,
i'll go ahead and FTP the lot.

Cheers
Micky

We also did not receive part 3/6. Could someone who got a copy send it to
me? Thanks in advance.

This happened to us, too. Maybe the extent of this problem warrants a repost
of this part. I'd ask to get it mailed, but I usually get a bunch of
responses, and get in trouble for mailing costs. Sigh...

While we are on the subject of missing postings, where is part 2
of the 3d plotting routine? I could really make some immediate use
of something like this (by which I DO NOT mean to criticize Mr.
Alberty (sp?) at Northcoast, who I think has done a good job!!).

We are also missing part 3 - did the original postings ever really have
it? Anyway, I agree - can someone please post it (or re-post)?

Thanks.

I just took a look at it, and what was recently posted is version 3.8L. I don't
see any drastic differences over v3.8i, at least not once I applied various
patches that other people posted. Getting TurboC to compile it took enough
hacking that I'm not gonna go through it all again -- not when v3.9 has been
promised for Real Soon Now. v3.8i is working fine for me.

Yes I am having the same problem. Only mine is worse as I can't just FTP
anything as up here we have no arpa-net and not FTP. would some kind soul like
to mail my the missing part 3. I know of a least a dozen other people that are
also looking for it, so I can mail it to them from here.

Thanks in advance.

After a delay of about a week, part three just showed up in
comp.binaries.ibm.pc.

It seems, part 2 of the 3d plotting routines wasn't received here, too. Is
there a friendly soul out there who can tell me where to get it from?

Same applies here.

Since about a month or so, many postings consisting of more than one article
(mostly sources, of course), have one of there parts suppressed. This is valid
at least for this European site.
Among these postings are:
	- MicroEmacs Ver 3.8 l already mentioned by other poeple
	- MicroEmacs Ver 3.8 i now obsolete, but 6 parts missing
	- new fgrep, part 2
	- right hand man (rhm), part 3
	- 3d plot routines see above

I'm pretty sure there are some others but they don't come to my mind.
What goes on here? Is someone suppressing posted sources. As you see in
the list above, there is more than only one newsgroup affected.
