[comp.sys.ibm.pc] AutoCAD Experience

ray@asci.UUCP (Ray Tripamer) (08/05/87)

I am looking for people who have had any experience with AutoCAD
(or any CAD/CAM package) on the IBM-PC/AT. Specifically, what kind
of graphics card do you use? Have you had any problems either
with the software or hardware? What type of resolution does your
card (along with the software) support? I saw an advertisement
for a CAD and card with resolution of something like 1024 x 780.
Does anyone use a PC cad with this kind of resolution? If so,
is it in color, or monochrome only? How about CAD systems on
clones?

I would appreciate any comments that anyone has had with PC CAD
systems in general, and comments relating to my above questions.
I am looking at probably a Zenith 248 (AT Clone) as my target machine.
The type of CAD work will be 2-D type civil engineering stuff. Workstations
are for the moment not being considered due to the low cost of the PC, and
becuase a network is not necessary at this time.

Please e-mail responses to the address below. Thanks in advance.
