[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Termcap.

ken@nsc.nsc.com (Ken Trant) (08/17/87)

 Hello,

I would like to find a termcap entry for my pc-xt clone with a color
monitor. If someone has a copy they could mail to me or point me in the
right direction for where to download a copy I would appreaciate it.

 Thanks in advance.

Forgive me if I am wrong, but isn't asking for a termcap entry for a PC
like going into a car dealership and asking for a bolt for my car.
I don't spend a lot of time with termcaps but it strikes me that the entry
is very dependant on the software one is using on the xt to communicate
to the system or if running Xenix or something then the device driver
installed such as ansi.sys or fansi or nansi etc. If you are using
a remote system then you are using terminal software and in general that
software emulates SOMETHING (ie some type of terminal).

Maybe I am missing something in the original question asking for a
termcap entry for an XT. Maybe someone would be kind enough to spell
it out to me in real simple english.

These questions seem to come around like black fly season. Here are
termcaps for Xenix, Xenix color, PC using ANSI.SYS, and PC/IX. I have
used all of them for at least 14 months. Your milage may vary.
