Can someone help me with a DBASE - WORDPERFECT transfer? I need to transfer the content of many memo fields in a database to ASC format so that I can take them into WORDPERFECT. While it is easy to convert .dbf files via the "delimit with" and "type" commands to ASC, this does not apply to the memo fields. Although the content of a memofield can be written into an ASC file, this is cumbersome in a database with several hundred records, each of which contain memo fields. Does any one know how to convert a .dbt file as a whole into an ASC file? Or has someone written a program that does just that, moving from memofield to memofield in a database and placing the content into one ASC file capable of further editing with a wordprocessor like WordPerfect? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks! Hans Rollmann hans@garfield.uucp hans@garfield.mun.cdn hans@kean.mun.cdn hans@mun.bitnet hrollman@munucs.uucp

The DBASE I referred to in article # 5061 was of course DBASE III+ Hans Rollmann

It isn't well documented, but you can output the contents of memo fields as "just another field" in a report form. So all you have to do is set up an appropriate report form, pick the right condition test for the FOR and use SET ALTERNATE to route the report to a file. -- Leonard Erickson ...!tektronix!reed!percival!bucket!leonard CIS: [70465,203] "I used to be a hacker.
