I'm sorry if this isn't the right place for this request, but I couldn't think of a sensible alternative. A friend of mine has an Apricot F1. She was sold this on the understanding that she would be able to run a word processor and a database program on it. Unfortunately, the database won't work and the dealer has more or less washed his hands of the matter. The problem is, apparently, that database software usually needs more than one disk drive - the F1 has one (760K), of course. My friend is a nurse, with not a lot of spare pennies, so an upgrade is a last resort. The F1 is an MS-DOS machine, but it uses 3.5 inch floppies and, I think, a non-standard disk format. It only has 256K of RAM. I know of a couple of places that can copy MS-DOS software onto the disks OK, the question is, can anyone recommend a suitable program? I should point out that the end user is fairly new to computers, so the friendlier the software the better. I don't think she needs anything very big. As this is unlikely to be of interest to the general reader, e-mailed replies would probably be more socially responsible! Thanks.
