(Posted for a friend not lucky enough to get net access.) My friend got an el cheapo clone system with a composite monitor that displays shades of grey instead of colors. The system seems OK enough, except for problems with the monitor. This system is of course a no name offshore special from a place no longer in business. (That's why you buy IBM. -) ) On the lower half of the screen, some scan lines waver or seem out of sync, so that letters are wavy looking. As the display scrolls up, the letters seem to wave as additional lines are displayed. If the brightness and contrast settings are adjusted, the position of the topmost wavy line changes. All in all, the display is hard to read. Any suggestions that I can pass along? -- Philip Burton burton@parcvax.COM ...!hplabs!parcvax!burton Xerox Corp. preferred path: burton.osbunorth@xerox.COM 408 737 4635 ... usual disclaimers apply ...
