Several months ago, I heard about a product called VideoTrax that allows backing up to a VCR. Has anyone tried this product or know anything about the company?

Byte Magazine gave it a God-awful review. They tested if thoroughly
and found it to be much slower than regular tape drives and very
unreliable. They said that it also is not as dense as it could have
been. They said that there was no use for which they would recommend
it.
