[comp.sys.ibm.pc] IGNORANCE IS NOT BLISS

wjr@rayssd.RAY.COM (William J. Ramey) (09/15/87)

Since I have my own XT clone, I should be a little more aware
of how my hardware works, but...

	Anyway,

	(1) I currently have a Hercules compatable adaptor and I
use "SIMCGA" software, etc. etc. to simulate the CGA.
Is there currently a monitor card(similar to what is
used in the 6300) to output CGA to a monochrome monitor?
	and

	(2)	You'll love this one, I have two different disk drives
in my system. One is a Fujitsu, the other is a TEAC.
I am not sure what type of card my controller is, but
on more than one occassion, I have trouble accessing
either drive in the form of data read errors (I can
take the disks and read them on an IBM with no problem).

Anybody have similar problems or have any quick answers?

ATI makes two such cards. The first is the "Graphics Solution", the second
which also has EGA, is the "EGA Wonder". I have used both of these cards
and have no complaints.
