I have just received an AT&T PC 6300, and I would like to do some low level hacking and learn my way around the machine. Is there a cheap assembler available that I can use to learn my way around? It doesn't have to be too powerful (although I'll certainly use extra features if I get them). Sources would be nice. A cross assembler would be okay if it will run on AT&T UNIX System V and generate .exe files I can download with kermit. I would like public domain and free, shareware and cheap, or cheap, in that order of preference. I don't subscribe to this group, so please reply by phone or email.
