[comp.sys.ibm.pc] YAHDP - Yet Another Hard-Disk Plea

I know this is a tired old story by now, but I need pointers to initiating
a low-level format using a Western Digital WD1002A controller driving a
(gasp) CMI 3426 drive.  System is an old IBM PC (256k motherboard.)

Any help is greatly appreciated.  Please e-mail me, as I fear the net
in general is sick of such topics.
