disk made a high pitched WHEEE! sound for about 3 seconds. I did a directory
and it listed the files, but when changed to my root directory and did another
directory, it couldn't find most of the files!
I re-booted and the system just hung. When I boot off floppy disk, and
then try and go to the C disk, I either get messages "Invalid drive specificati
on" or "Error reading drive C: abort, retry, ignore".
I took the top off my machine to see what was happening. When the
computer starts up, the hard disk comes up to speed and I can hear the head
moving, then it switches over to the floppy disk. Ok so far. But after the
computer realizes nothing is in the A drive, and it tries to go back to the
C disk, the computer just hangs.
This sounds like a hardware problem to me. Could it be the floppy
controller chip or the interface circuitry, or something else?
I have a Z-151 computer and my hard disk is a InBoard 21 hard card.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
