I would like to write a program that runs processes
in a 'time-sliced' fashion, but I've been unable to
figure out how to get a steady stream of interrupts.
Is there any way I can do this in software? One idea
I had was to use the 8253, but I couldn't figure out
any way to generate interrupts from it. Being
able to do this would also allow things like programmable
interval timers, interruptable system calls, etc.
Please respond via email; I'll post a summary.
