[comp.sys.ibm.pc] PC-XT Turbo Cards

shapiro@pdp.cs.OHIOU.EDU (brian shapiro) (10/05/87)

Here are a couple of questions about the 286 based turbo boards that make
you IBM PC or XT run like an AT type machine. Number 1, will OS/2 run on
machines equipped with one of these boards? It is after all an 80286
processor or does OS/2 require the 16 bit or 32 bit bus?

Number 2, any opinions out there on AT type replacement motherboards for
a standard XT Chasis? In looking I think that this might be a less expensive
modification but I think you need to get an AT type floppy/Fixed disk
controller card and this makes the price for either option about the same.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks!

Brian
