[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Source level profiler

rfpcs@mergvax.UUCP (10/01/87)

I am looking for bottlenecks in a rather large program. I have been
looking for a profiler to help locate the critical sections to try to
speed up the processing time. To date I have found 0 manufacturers of
profilers. I would appreciate any help in locating one. Any info
from real use would be great.

Well, your count just increased by 2:

The Phoenix folks (PFIX, PLIB, PLINK, various BIOS's, etc) back
in MA make one (I forget its name).

The Antron folks (of hardware Bug Buster fame) in Saratoga, CA,
     also make one.

Both of these companies advertise is all of the mags, so their mailing
addresses shouldn't be difficult to come by.

I am sure there are also others. You might want to check with one of
the programmers' supply outfits (The Programmer's Connection comes to
mind). They usually have 800 numbers and knowlegable folks on the phone.
Good luck. . . .
