I have gotten some mail lately asking about the NEC V-Series, and have responded to several articles posted on the net. I hope that I have answered your questions, but remember that I am doing so only to the best of my ability and that these answers represent the knowledge and opinions of an NEC employee only, and not the official views of NEC Electronics, Inc. or of NEC Corporation. I don't think I've gotten any wrong yet, though :-). One of the questions I've gotten that I haven't answered yet is re: an 8087 look-alike/act-alike. NEC was considering doing one in the past, which is how some of you probably heard about it, but development on that product has been cancelled. NEC does not have a replacement chip for the 8087.
