Hello, I mentioned this a few days back in another article I wrote, but I think it may have dropped into the celestial bit-bucket when we had a system crash. Int 19H warmboot service request seems to be brain-damaged on all but real IBMs and a few klone boxes. As has been mentioned previously, the magic cookie method of setting 0040:0072H equal to to 1234H flags the BIOS to skip hardware initialization and memory test. This comes in real handy if you want to call an interrupt to set your EGA card to CGA mode and then reboot for brain dead software that demands CGA; fortunately such software is pretty much limited to copy-proofed games. --Bill (wtm@neoucom.UUCP)
