The Targa Family of Graphics Boards *do* supply what you
want, but be forewarned, they *are* expen$ive. I don't recall
what the prices were for the other products, but the TARGA-16
board cost $2995 (a year ago). I include some basic info as
described in the AT&T Documentation:
================================================================================
The family of AT&T Truevision Advanced Raster Graphics Adapters
(TARGA) ... all support an enhanced spatial resolution of up to
512 by 482 pixels with different color resolutions:
Targa 8 Supports 256 levels of grey (8 bits per pixel)
Targa M8 Displays 256 colors from a palette of over 16
million colors. The M8 digitizes a monochrome
video input. It has 8-bit input look-up tables
and 24-bit output look-up tables. The M8 supports
video overlay and can mix its output with the
output from an IBM Color Graphics Adapter.
Targa 16 Supports 32,768 colors and the ability to overlay
computer-generated graphics on top of live video
source such as a camera or video casette recorder
(16 bits per pixel).
Targa 24 Supports 16,777,216 colors (24 bits per pixel).
Targa 32 supports 16,777,216 colors as well as the ability to
continuously "blend" (128 levels) computer graphics
with a live video source such as a camera (32 bits
per pixel).
All of the TARG models capture images in real time: 1/60th of a
second per field or 1/30th of a second per frame.
================================================================================
AT&T supply software programs &/or software building blocks
("AT&T TOOLS") to utilize their hardware. The pre-written
programs ("Image Capture", ...) are very expensive, but the
utility routines package (written in Lattice-C) is a bargain,
if you want to write your own systems, etc.
Hope this was of some help.

- Sorry, I forgot to include the following: ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// // // // for ADDITIONAL INFORMATION // // // // write: // // // // AT&T // // Electronic Photography and Imaging Center // // 2002 Wellesley Ave. // // Indianapolis, IN 46219 // // // ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// - Also, there may be local companies through which you can purchase the hardware &/or software directly. Be aware, however, that if they are amything like the companies with whom I attemted to do business (Champaign-Urbana, Illinois), their contractual obligations to AT&T preclude sales which do not involve the installation of *entire* systems. I finally got by TARGA-16 board & "TOOLS" from AT&T. _D_L_
