I have need to know how the following is done. If anyone knows of how to do it. let me know, thanks. here we go: I have a program which is to big to fix on 1 diskette, and even if you compress it still doesn't fit. What I am looking for is a way to read the file into memory in sections (say 300K) and then go and execute this program. Note this program already works on a hard disk. Is this possible? thanks inadvance Bradley Smith UUCP: {cepu,ihnp4,noao,uiucdcs}!bradley!brad Text Processing ARPA: cepu!bradley!brad@CS.UCLA Bradley University PH: (309) 677-2337 Peoria, IL 61625

If you have the source code you can use overlays, which allow you to have only part of the program in memory at once, and store it in more than one file. Check your compiler manual to see how to do this. - - - - - - - - - Steve Creps on the VAX 8650 running Ultrix 2.0-1 at Indiana University. creps@silver.bacs.indiana.edu "Go tell your master we are on a quest for the Holy Grail!"
