After using the PD version of FANSI-CONSOLE on my 6300 for about a year
I decided to buy a copy for my new 6310 at work. After receiving the
software I installed it and found that it did not work properly with the
super-high resolution graphics modes of the 6310, but it did work with
my 6300. I called Hersey and they could not solve my problem but it
would be added to their list. I thought that I would hear from them again
in a month or _few_, but they called when I was out for lunch with the
following patch. I typed this in and rebooted and all modes worked as
they should.
They indicated that this was the first ocurrance of this problem with this
machine so I decided to post this just to save someone the time and trouble
of calling them.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<PATCH>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
In order to have FANSI-CONSOLE Version 2.00 work properly with the super
high resolution graphics of the AT&T PC6310 the following patch must be
performed to the program fconsole.dev.
Enter DEBUG and type the following:
Prompt Response
- AA26A
XXXX:A26A JMP A281
XXXX:A26C <Return>
- A9BB6
XXXX:9BB6 RET
XXXX:9BB7 <Return>
- w
- q
Verify that the /X=3 switch is used on the same line as DEVICE=fconsole.dev
in the file CONFIG.SYS. All programs that use any of the high resolution
graphics modes of the 6310 will work as you expect them.
This patch was supplied by Hersey Micro Consulting the morning that I reported
the problem to them.
