Is there any interest out there from people who use DESQview, Windows, etc. for a program which will allow you to pass parameters to programs which normally requires the parameters to be on the command line ? The scenario is this: In DESQview you are able to pass parameters to a program you wish to run but the parameters are static (i.e. cannot change from run to run). This creates a problem when you want to run a program , say, an editor such as MS EDLIN which requires the file to edit to be specified on the command line. Within DESQview you would have to be content with editing the same file over and over or running a copy of DOS and THEN running your editor. Or perhaps you would like to run the same program over and over but with different configuration switches from time to time. For instance PROCOMM using direct screen write option or the BIOS screen write option. I have written a program which will accept interactively the parameters you wish to pass to a program you want to run and then 'fool' the program into thinking that the parameters were on the command line. If anyone is interested I would be happy to post it to the net. The program PARAPASS (for parameter pass :-) ) in NOT memory resident and requires about 2K of memory to do it's thing. It was written in A86 assembly language and the source would be provided. Anybody interested? Rusty Baldwin nmsu-ee!rusty

Std. Disc.: I'm just a satisfied customer. -- {harvard,uunet,ucbvax}!b.gp.cs.cmu.edu!ralf -=-=- AT&T: (412)268-3053 (school) ARPA: RALF@B.GP.CS.CMU.EDU |4 line .sigs|"I do not fear computers.|DISCLAIMER? God bless you Rusty :-)! That's just what I need. Please post it. I don't feel like shelling out 50 bucks for the DESQview 2.0 upgrade when that is the only additional feature I would use. /Ashok Nadkarni Digital Equipment Corporation PS Sorry to post this but I couldn't get thru to Rusty.
