I'm looking for good, inexpensive, shareware spreadsheet and database programs that will work well together (spreadsheet can reference data either in another spreadsheet or the database). I've obtained a copy of PC-File+ 1.0 (from Buttonware) which looks like it will meet my needs. I also have a copy of Express Calc 3.09 (from Expressware(?)) which looks very good, though I haven't had much chance to try it out yet. I understand that Buttonware has a PC-Calc spreadsheet that will work with PC-File+ (Express Calc claims to work with PC-File, but I don't know if it will work with the newer PC-File+) but I haven't been able to find a copy to try. Also Expressware has its File Express database which supposedly works well with Express Calc; I have not been able to find it either. I think it would be best to stay with the products of one company in order to better guarentee compatibility between spreadsheet and database. I would greatly appreciate recommendations from anyone who has experience with these shareware products. Send me your opinions of the relative merits of each. In return for this savings to my time and effort, I will gladly summarize to the net any useful informations sent to me. Thanks. -- Paul Dubuc {ihnp4,cbosgd}!cbdkc1!pmd
