[Posted for a friend without net access] Can anyone recomment a good (cheap) 70+MB hard disk for my Compaq 286 Portable (the original, not the Compaq Portable II). Presumably the gating items are the size (looks like a half-height in an almost full-height bay) and BIOS support. They are available in ST506, SCSI and ESDI interface with storage capacitys of 55, 100, 150, and 200 megabytes. Evaluation units will be available first quarter of 1988. You can burn an entry in the BIOS drive parameter table to support nearly any drive.
