[comp.sys.ibm.pc] MKS HOLY WARS/CRUSADES

dono@killer.UUCP (Don OConnell) (11/07/87)

Will you people out there in netland quit wasting bandwidth with these stupid
HOLY WARS/CRUSADES about MKS and other inane subjects.

Mks produces a good product which has a niche to fill. Now lets get on to
other subjects.

Thanks don

How can you say this AND say stop the HOLY WARS in the same breath?

What he says makes sense. If it were not a good product, there would not be
enough people out there who bought it and are using it, and the flamers would
have no-one to flame.

It is the flamers, many with highly inflammatory and childishly exaggerated
language, who start and nourish holy wars on the net. It is one thing to hold
an opinion of a product, it is another to call anyone an idiot or worse who
doesn't share your opinion. That's how the wars start.

Recent comments recommending the MKS toolkit were made in response to queries,
which is perfectly legitimate. The inflammatory follow-ups were not, mostly
because of their tone.
