[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Speeding up the keyboard

831059l@aucs.UUCP (STEVEN LUCIEN LANGLOIS) (11/23/87)

Last week I posted a message inquiring how to speed up the slow
PC keyboard. So far I've received absolutely nothing!! Someone out there
must have the source to QKEYS.COM or some program like it. As I mentioned
in my previous article I have QKEYS.COM but not the source. I unassembled
it and found that it is a TSR program which changes the interrupt vector
for both interrupt 8 and 9 but does call the old routines under certain
conditions and it is these conditions that I can't figure out.

Any source code or other suggestions of how to speed up the key
board would be greatly appreciated.

I am asuming you are refering to the PC Magazine utility
"QUICKEYS.COM". If you are, look in Volume #5 Issue #5 Page #255.
This article should have a thorough discussion of QUICKEYS and have
a complete listing of commented source code. Alternately, you could
dial up PC Magazines BBS (212-696-0360 in the east, 415-598-9100 in
the west, 2400/1200/300-8-1-n). There you should find the source
code also.
