I need help installing a 360k DS/DD drive in an IBM-AT. I purchased a drive that was removed from a Leading Edge micro-computer when a hard disk was being installed. The drive is made by Panasonic (Matsushita Communication Ind). There is no obvious model number on the label but here are the numbers that are there: LR55467 E66484 626253 I have been put on endless hold by Leading Edge tech support at 617-821-4300. What I need to know are the jumper settings that will allow this drive to function as drive B: in the IBM-AT. It would help to know what kind of cable was used to connect it to the leading edge controller. At worst, I'd expect that you'll have to remove the terminating resistor from your current drive a:, be sure there's one installed in the "new" drive, and check the drive select address jumper. If you had an IBM style disk drive cable in the Leading Edge machine, it should be ok (unless the tech pulled drive a: instead of b:, and it's certainly possible). For the IBM disk drive cable, both drives are set to DS1. Mike Berger Center for Advanced Study University of Illinois berger@clio.las.uiuc.edu {ihnp4 | convex | pur-ee}!uiucuxc!clio!berger
