[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Constant block cursor program

sword@vu-vlsi.UUCP (Ronin) (11/27/87)

Well, I've seen this discussion before...

I'd say about 5 months ago, this was an active question (setting the
cursor on/off/solid and I said I'd write a quicky TSR to try and
fix it. Well, it took awhile, but, having time during Thanksgiving,
I hammered one out. This is a basic description/problem list:

1. It does reproduce a solid, non-blinking cursor, where the cursor
  should be.

2. However, it gets really nasty when the screen scrolls up during
cursor repositioning (i.e. during a "DIR")

3. It crashes Turbo Pascal, once you enter the edit mode.

4. It makes IBM Basica do very strange things.

All-in-all these are not good signs. I used the tried-and-true,
anti-IBM method of replacing the vector table addresses, so I know
that works. I will post it for fixing/examination. But my
question is, do I post it here, somewhere else, or mail it
to somebody???? (all this moderation/no moderation stuff left
me in the dust - I should have paid attention). Somebody let
me know, and I'll have it out by Tuesday, if I find out how.
Then, maybe we can all have solid cursors, at least sometimes.
