net.general is not for: testing use "net.test", if necessary advertising items for sale use a local distribution and group looking for people use net.net-people looking for X for your Y use net.wanted Items in net.general are supposed to be of general interest to EVERYONE AROUND THE WORLD. Your articles to this group are seen throughout the net, and most of the recent postings are simply inappropriate. Items posted to net.general should not also be posted to any other groups -- if there is another group that seems appropriate, that is the only place where the article should go. Net.general is for announcements. If you wish to start up a discussion and don't know what group to use, try using "net.misc". If you don't know what groups are availabale or what they're about, consult the list of active newsgroups. That list is published every 2 weeks in the net.news.group newsgroup. I'll be happy to mail a copy to you if you cannot find one in your news. Stop posting tests and 4sale notices to net.general! -- Off the Wall of Gene Spafford The Clouds Project, School of ICS, Georgia Tech, Atlanta GA 30332 Phone: (404) 894-6169, (404) 894-6170 [messages] CSNet: Spaf @ GATech ARPA: Spaf%GATech.CSNet @ CSNet-Relay.ARPA uucp: ...!{akgua,allegra,amd,hplabs,ihnp4,masscomp,ut-ngp}!gatech!spaf ...!{rlgvax,sb1,uf-cgrl,unmvax,ut-sally}!gatech!spaf
