I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with Borland's new spreadsheet. They've made owners of current products and attractive offer and I'm tempted, but I'd like to hear what anyone whose gotten his/her hands on the product has to say. I have a few specific questions, as an intermittent user of Lotus 123 1a(*): 1) When one or more columns are moved to another location in the spreadsheet, are their widths carried with them? 2) Does Quattro support simple-minded bar graphs for those (few) of us who have monochrome monitors without Herculean capabilities? 3) How many graphs can you design and retain in association with an individual spreadsheet? By retain, I mean keep around such that I can view them and add data ranges to them whenever I call up the spreadsheet. Thanks very much for any help you can give. -- Jay Elvove jay@umd5.umd.edu c/o Systems, Computer Science Center, U. of MD.

I got to play with a beta test version and liked it very much. However I did not get to keep the copy. I am currently waiting (Borland rep promised a beta eval copy) for a beta copy. I also have the product on back order. So until they actually start letting go of the product it is hard to say what it can really do. I suspect there must be some problems that we are not being told about. Otherwise I think I would have at least a beta version by now. Jack

I talked to the Borland order line last week. I called to order Turbo-C 1.5, and asked about Quattro. The person on the line said that Quattro started shipping last week. I expect there are lots of orders (with the reduced price, it is hard to beat). John Unruh
