[comp.sys.ibm.pc] Make on the PC

haapanen@watdcsu.UUCP (12/01/87)

I'm sure this subject has been beaten to death already, but...

I'd like to get a real Make for the PC. The Microsoft Make is not in
the smae class as the Unix version, as I'm sure all will agree. :-)
I have heard of NDMake --- could someone point out to me what it is
and where can I get it? Is it commercial software or public domain?

Replys by mail, please!

The make that was distributed with the original posting of PCcurses is
an excellent version. I've found it to be more consistant with UNIX make
than NDMAKE. I recently posted my turboc port of PCcurses to, including
make, to comp.sources.misc. If you can't find it, I can repost just the
make or email.

For all those who are interested, it is available on the NICBUL BBS system.
It is a share-ware program. I just started to check it out by using it
for the make for compiling the RBBS software. The power really seems to
be there.

The phone number is (608) 273-5037. It is now up 24 hours a day, that is,
if something isn't wrong. I am in the current process of checking out
whether I want to your Windows386 (version 2.03) or DESQview (version 2.01).
If it is down and it is during th daytime, it will be back up shortly.
No registration is required, just call up and download to your heart's
content.
